So, just who are these Douro Boys?
Well, scroll down a bit, and you’ll be very surprised by what you find. First of all, the five winemakers are no longer “boys”, but fully-grown men and the women behind the scenes play no less important roles.

What started as a group of like-minded friends, thrived, then morphed into a globally acclaimed project. Since 2003 the five wine producers worked together with one goal: although the Portuguese Douro Valley is primarily famous for its traditional port wines, the Douro Boys realized early on that their dry red and white table wines are pretty amazing too.

Together they want to make the world aware of the table wine potential of their incredibly beautiful region and to “put it on the international wine map”.

As many connoisseurs around Planet Wine now know, the high quality of Douro wines is unquestionable. What makes the boys so successful in communicating their vision is the way they all enthusiastically pull together.

This is our ancestor: Constantino de Almeida. He is the founder of the Constantino Wine House that produced and exported Port wine. Their slogan “A fama do Constantino já vem de longe” (“The fame of Constantino dates far back in the past”) has been so popular that it still remains until today. After Constantino's death, his son Fernando Moreira d'Almeida managed Quinta do Crasto and carried on his legacy: Producing wine with the utmost respect. Today the estate is managed by the fourth generation of the family.

In the Douro Valley, we not only produce spectucular wine - as you all know for sure! 😉 - but also magnificent olive oils. We're very proud of the high quality and at Quinta do Crasto you can get a bottle of Quinta do Crasto Premium and/or selection. It's perfect for starters and grilled cod 😍

Hold on... you've wondered why there's no video with all of us? Let's all say it together, and we want to hear your most sarcastic tone of voices: "Thank you, Covid....😒" (Feel free to send or tag us in videos 😉) Due to COVID19 it was a bit difficult for us to get together. But we figured out a way - with distance, of course - to foot tread together. And it was a blast - see for yourself. Douro Boys' Harvest 2020? Over & Out! 🍷
